Day 35 - 4,952 miles later and back home.

We spent the night at the Gold Strike Casino, we parked in the back, it was quiet.

We left in the morning and headed to Oxford MS, we always enjoy visiting there.  We stopped by the visitors center, always good to stop at them, you can get good information at them.

The lady there recommended Soulshine Pizzeria because they are dog friendly.  We enjoyed the pizza and the waitress was very nice.

Back on the road and we made it home at 10 pm.

Day 34 - Made it to Tunica MS

We spent the night in the Cracker Barrel parking lot, very quiet and great breakfast in the morning.

We stopped at the Isle of Capri in Cape Girardeau to take a driving break.  Play some slots for about 20 minutes and we are leaving $46 richer.

Found an RV wash, had to stop and remove some grime.

Day 33 - Made it to Troy, IL

We spent the night at the Walmart in Springfield.  It was a quiet and the weather was comfortably cool.

We visited Abe Lincoln's home were he raised his family.  It was also the place where he accepted the nomination from the Republican party to run for President.

His old neighborhood has been preserved and restored, it is like going back in time.

Day 32 - Made it to Springfield IL

We spent the night at the Mark Twain Casino in La Grange, MO.  We left with $30 more than we arrived with, I like it when it turns out like that.

From there we headed to Hannibal, MO.  Enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of lemon cheesecake at Java Jive.

We walked around some and checked out a few places.

Spike found a place to pose for a photo, he is such a ham.

It was really hot and humid and I was glad to get back in the RV and drive.  We headed south and drove through Louisiana, MO.  We read it had some nice homes and buildings, it did.

Day 31 - Made it to La Grange, MO

We spent the night at the Walmart in Independence, Iowa, we had a fellow RVer in front of us.  They had a long rig and I was amazed at the speed he parked it.  We watched as he came around the corner and pulled alongside the curb.  He then backed up about 15 feet and was done.  I usually circle the lot looking for a "good" spot.

We drove to Cedar Rock State Park to tour a home designed and decorated by Frank Lloyd Wright.  The house was amazing!  The original owners kept the house as designed and decorated by Frank Lloyd Wright.    If you are a fan of his homes this is a must see.

We then headed to Cedar Rapids and looked for some Lustron Homes.  We found two if them, and we even talked to an owner of one of them.  His house looked just like we hoped it would.  It looked like it had just been built, they truly unique homes.  Made of steel, everything, the roof shingles, exterior walls, interior walls, even the kitchen cabinets.

This is the house next door, also a Lustron Home.
